Why should you choose our Nursery?

  • The Harris Federation has a proven track record of running high quality nursery settings. Currently 100% of our nurseries are judged by Ofsted to be ‘good’ with 91% ‘outstanding’.
  • In July 2023, Harris Primary Academy Benson was judged to be ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted. The school has the capacity and expertise to expand our provision to serve even more families within our community.

Our Nursery Class

The Nursery at Harris Primary Academy Benson is an Early Years provision with warm and welcoming staff, that are a dedicated team of individuals working together to promote high-quality Early Years provision.

Our highly qualified and experienced staff offer the children a learning through play-based experience as required for the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

Our Nursery offers 52 places (26 each session). This is a mixture of full time (30 hours) and part time (15 hours) places, funded. Children can start in Nursery the term after their third birthday, if places are available.

Our Nursery will run term time only in line with the term dates for the main school.

The hours for the Nursery are as follows:

Morning session: 8.30am - 11.30am.

Afternoon Session: 12.30pm - 3.30pm.

Full Day: 8.30am – 3.30pm*

*This includes an hour for lunchtime provision chargeable at £6.00 per pupil per day. £4.00 per day for children eligible for Early Years Pupil Premium funding.

Wraparound Provision

As part of our Nursery class, we will also be offering a wraparound provision as part of our extended day. This provision has an additional cost which falls outside of Government funded childcare.

Breakfast Club - 7.30am-8.30am

Daily rate: £6.00 (Early Years Pupil Premium £4.00)

 

After-School Club - pick up by 6.00pm (Dinner included)

Daily rate: £15.00 (Early Years Pupil Premium £10.00)

Nursery 3

Costs

At present all three and four-year-olds are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare per week, up to 38 weeks per year. The government also provides an extended 15 hours of free childcare per week - 30 hours in total for 38 weeks per year, for those families that are eligible.

Please note - for those parents not entitled to the 30 hours funded childcare, subject to available spaces, we can offer a paid full-time place, at a cost of £120 per week, payable in advance. All full-time places are subject to 5 days per week, term time only.

Parents can also get up to £500 every 3 months (up to £2,000 a year) for each of your children to help with the costs of childcare. This goes up to £1,000 every 3 months if a child is disabled (up to £4,000 a year). When can your child start?

Children can start in Nursery the term after their third birthday, if places are available.

How can you apply?

Applications for a place in our Nursery can be made directly to the school, by collecting an application form from the school office or by downloading a copy of the application form using the link below and returning it directly to the school once completed:
